PolicyWatch Networks, Inc., founded in November 2002 and headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was formed by four individuals contributing more than 100 years of combined business development and management experience. The company’s primary focus was to develop and implement a first-of-its-kind, web based personal information management tool allowing individuals to create an electronic important record system. The system would not only serve as a backup copy to their paper records, but would also provide an extraordinary benefit of ensuring that this important information could be passed along to trusted others if the owner became unable to communicate on their own.
When a tragedy causing incapacity or death occurs, survivors are expected to come up with answers to very troubling questions, typically at a time of enormous stress and confusion. Attending to loved ones personal affairs is a daunting task. The lack of information to guide them through important issues is one of the primary reasons that survivors overlook and even loose assets and important benefits.
Each having experienced such situations, the founders set out to develop a system permitting an individual to create an electronic copy of important records, assign an event that would trigger the distribution of the record, and assign others who would be informed that the information existed. The end result would produce a virtual information roadmap for others to follow.
The founders assembled a very talented team of technology specialists to create what is now eLifeID. eLifeID.com took nearly fours years to build and is PolicyWatch Network’s flagship service, offering individuals a comprehensive solution to protect information related to their personal affairs and important records. Through an electronic lockbox format, eLifeID’s core functionality permits a user to build a master reference guide filled with each and every important record that they have or want to create and connect an information lifeline to others when they need to know.
