No. eLifeID is an electronic personal information manager (PIM) that enables you to create a record identification system. It is self directed by the subscriber and is designed to index information related to your important records and documents into a quick reference guide. The information that you place in your private account is derived from documents or information that you already have.

Absolutely Not. eLifeID does not offer legal, financial or other advice. eLifeID is a tool to help you identify and organize all of the important documents and records that these professionals create for you, as well as personal records that you create yourself. It permits you to collectively assemble this information under one umbrella. eLifeID allows you to create an electronic reference guide of everything that you feel is important to you or may be important to pass on to other family members if the need arises.
Legal, financial and/or insurance related issues can be very complicated and have a significant impact on you and your family. If you are uncertain about any legal, financial or insurance related issues, we recommend seeking advice from your legal, financial or insurance professional. These professionals are experts in their fields and there is no substitute for their services.

No. For record identification these numbers are not relevant. At this stage, the most important function is to identify what the record is, who provides the service and where any corresponding documents can be located.
For example, if you created a credit card record, the basic information fields would ask you to enter the name of the financial institution that provides the credit, their address and telephone number. If you had to reconstruct your personal records or if others had to act on your behalf, due to your incapacity or death, this is the only information needed to identify and act on the information. When you or others that you assign to be informed of particular information make contact with the company who provides the service, that service provider will advise what needs to be done.
As another example, let’s assume that you own a life insurance policy and you suddenly die. It is more important to inform others, who need to know, that a policy does exist rather than tell them what its worth or who the beneficiaries are. Insurance benefit and beneficiary information is dictated by the policy contract itself and will be carried out by the insurance provider once they are notified. What is important is to identify the existence of the policy and steer others in the right direction so they can initiate a claim. The insurance provider will instruct what needs to be done. In this example you would create a record that includes the insurance company name, address, and telephone number so that those who need to initiate a claim know exactly where to look and who to contact.
In the case of dollar values, we cannot think of any situation where this kind of information would have any relevance to record identification whatsoever. Therefore, you are not required to enter this type of information.
Some eLifeID database entry forms do provide fields for account or policy number entry. However, you are not required to enter any information into these fields – they are strictly optional. If you choose to do so, these data entry fields will only accept up to 5 characters. Typically you would enter the last four or five digits of an account number. The purpose of this function is to help separate two or more similar records from the same service provider. It is common for people to have two or more life insurance policies provided by the same insurance carrier or two or more financial accounts provided by the same financial institution. A partial account number is fragmented data rendering it useless to anyone but you.

No. When you open an account, you are required to select a unique username and password as well as provide answers to several security questions. This, combined with our internal security protocols, prevent unauthorized access to your account. In addition, when you submit records over the internet we secure those transmissions using 128 Bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology, making the information unreadable.
With that being said, security is a two way-street between you and any company that you do business with. You are responsible for keeping your username and password secure from others. However, if you allow your username and password to become exposed and another person tries to access your records from a computer other than the one you originally subscribed from, an internal security system activates and begins an extended validation process. If you suspect that your access codes have been compromised, notifying eLifeID will immediately restrict access to your account until you have ample time to change your access codes. Usernames and passwords are securely stored using encryption technology. Your access codes are not available to anyone within our organization. Customer service employees have no access to view your records under any circumstance beyond your basic subscriber information and subscription term. Information fulfillment service procedures can only be accomplished by senior managers and/or officers of the company.
eLifeID subscribes to third party verification organizations such as the Better Business Bureau & BBBOnline. Membership in these types of organizations requires us to adhere and perform to strict operating standards. We permit these organizations to inspect and audit our internal procedures and computer log files upon request.

When you create a master reference guide using eLifeID you create an electronic backup or duplicate copy of your original information. An effective backup protection plan requires the duplicate information to be well separated from the original information. Considering that most people store the majority of their important physical records in their own home and/or a bank safe deposit box, maintaining the backup copy even remotely near the original copies defeats the purpose of backup protection.
Imagine losing everything that you have in a devastating tornado, hurricane, flood or fire affecting not just you, but the region you live in. If the original information is lost, your backup copies will also be lost. Businesses, which rely on critical information, recognize the need for disaster planning and prepare backup copies that are stored far from their physical location. Your personal and business affairs are no less important than a company’s information and should be protected in the same fashion.

When you create a record, you inform people attached to your records, to contact eLifeID in the event that something unexpected happens leaving you unable to communicate. You can print and provide a General Notification Form to the people assigned to your records instructing them how to contact eLifeID. Once eLifeID is notified by any single person eLifeID will verify what has happened and begin to distribute your information in accordance with your last recorded instructions. This eliminates you having to update others as information changes in your life. You simple make changes to your records as they occur and your surrogates will be provided with the most current information.
eLifeID runs comparative matches against the Social Security Death Index records on a periodic basis. If you were to suddenly die and your identity matches a SSDI record, eLifeID will verify the event and immediately begin the process of distributing your information to those assigned to receive your information and in accordance with your instructions.

No. There is no government agency or national clearinghouse to identify insurance related records. That is why it is so important to establish a communication link between you and the rest of your family to ensure that your information can be identified and found.
